Formal Governance Structure
CCRN is a registered Canadian not-for-profit organization. We operate according to
the following Governance Structure to meet the purposes of the organization and the
needs of our membership.
Board of Directors
Eligibility Criteria
Election members
Healthcare and business professionals with a passion for new knowledge, promotion of evidence-based medicine, and who are knowledgeable in strategies to promote positive practice change.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To further the purposes of CCRN through ethical and legal management of the affairs and activities of the organization.
- To provide direction and focus to the organization’ activities, serving the needs of the members.

Advisory Board
Eligibility Criteria
By invitation from the Board of Directors
Specialists, primary care physicians and allied health professionals who are nationally/globally recognized leaders in their field and who provide valuable insights and ideas to assist the organization to meet its purposes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide expert knowledge, networking opportunities, and specific skill sets to enhance the scope and success of the organization.
- To identify the needs of the Members.
- To attend the annual general meeting and vote on the strategic direction for the organization that will meet the needs of the Membership and facilitate practice change through research and education.
Voting Rights: Yes
Member (Voting Class): Annual dues - $250
Eligibility Criteria
Primary care physicians, specialists, and other allied healthcare professionals (nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, technicians) in good standing with their professional college who have an interest in continuing professional development and medical research.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide input on the direction of the organization through completion of an annual survey. Additional opportunities for input through feedback on activities, needs assessments and participation in focus groups.
- To attend and provide formal evaluation of CCRN s medical education programs
- To identify potential opportunities that promote growth for the organization to meet its purposes.
- To attend the annual general meeting and vote on the strategic direction of the organization.

Member (Non-Voting Class): Free Registration
Eligibility Criteria
Primary care physicians, specialists, and other allied healthcare professionals (nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, technicians) in good standing with their professional college who have an interest in continuing professional development and medical research.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Invited to provide input on the direction of the organization through completion of an annual survey, feedback on activities, needs assessments and participation in focus groups.
- To serve (where relevant) as faculty, scientific planning committee members for CME initiatives.
- To serve as collaborators and co-authors for research activities
