Comparison of Adipokines and Inflammatory Markers in South Asians and Caucasians with Coronary Heart Disease

South Asians are at increased risk for coronary heart disease and its complications compared to people of European origin. This risk has been partly attributed to altered adipokines and inflammatory markers in South Asians, though this remains unclear. The PRACTICE Registry is a prospective study of CV outcomes in patients with CHD. In this marker sub-study, adipokines and inflammatory markers are compared in South Asian and Caucasian subjects.
